About Saint-Germain Bakery

In 1977, our first bakery opened at Ala Moana Shopping Center.  Since then, Saint Germain Bakery has been treating their customers to delicious, hand-made oven breads and pastries.  We use only the finest and freshest all natural ingredients (no preservatives) with time-honored authentic European recipes.  Our baking methods ensure the highest standard of quality and freshness in each of our products, assuring our customers an experience that is “Delightfully European.”

Saint-Germain began as a small section of Tokyu Foods and sold fresh Japanese style breads and French style pastries.

October 1, 1970 - the section of Tokyu Foods broke off and became the first in-store bakery in Japan.

November 29, 1977 - Saint-Germain Bakery opened its first store in Hawaii inside Shirokiya, located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center.

January 2, 1979 - a central bakery factory was opened to accommodate the increase in production and anticipated increase in the number of stores.

February 1, 1990 - Saint-Germain acquired Dee Lite Bakery to provide quality local bakery products in addition to the Japanese style breads and French style pastries for the people of Hawaii to enjoy.
